Much like Bill, I will watch anything written by Aaron Sorkin. But strangely, I think this is mainly due to my unyielding devotion to The West Wing, which I’m half-ashamed to admit seriously changed my life. Unfortunately, all his work since (Studio 60, The Social Network, The Newsroom) don’t seem to measure up. I’m watching The Newsroom, but I’m still uncertain whether I like it or not. It would be a great show if the format was somehow a series of one-act plays with Sam Waterston, Jeff Daniels, and Emily Mortimer (who I also have a crush on). Every character on that show under age 35 is completely tedious, but the grown-ups are pretty awesome. We’ll see what happens.
